TOBY MAC!!!!!

This weekend was a blast! Lauren and I went to see Toby Mac at the Toyota Center. I have to admit that this was the third time I have seen him in the last year and a half. I am addicted. When ever he is in town I am there. I think I may even have turned Lauren into a Toby fan. We both were on our feets dancing the whole time. I felt like a kid again. If you have not seen him you need to go. He really puts on an awesome show. I posted a few pics but they are not that clear. I got a new camera and I'm still learning.

It's time

Ok enough is enough. This is the week. How many times have we said that about loosing weight. I know I have way to many times. This time I am for real. I am tired of my clothes being way too tight. Some may say go buy new clothes. My answer to that is NO! I must get back in shape. For me, I'm sure like so many I worked my butt off for my wedding. Literally, my butt was half the size it had been. But after the wedding I slacked off. I thought, hey I can keep this up without trying so hard. WRONG!!! Most of you have probably seen my husband. If you haven't lets just say his weight problem is the opposite of mine. He is the only person I know that wants to gain weight. Nathan can eat as much as he wants, as many times a day as he wants and nothing. He isn't even gaining like he wants. It makes me sick. I have gained 20 lbs in the last year and a half and I am done. I love to watch The Biggest Loser, but since I have a job and can't work out 8 hours a day I guess I will take to slow. I will take tips that I learn from the show and put them to work for me. Today is day 3 without Dr Pepper. As I am blogging about it my mouth is watering thinking about one. My normal routine consisted of one first thing in the morning and one in the afternoon. So I think I am doing pretty good. I have traded the DP in for water. Yuck! I don't like water unless I am really thirsty and it is ice cold. I have been adding flavor to it to get it down. I'm not drinking my daily amount yet but I better than I was. I made it to the gym today. First time in a long time. I had a good workout. I'm going to try and get in at least 3 good work out a week. I am going to weigh myself in the morning and start keeping track of my progress. I hope this time I will keep with it and get healthy. I know there are others like me. Let's all do it together. We can form our own team. We won't have Bob or Jillian but we will have each other. Until next time, hopefully a lb or two lighter.

The Few, The Proud, The Brave

Today is veterans day. A day that we remember the ones that have fought so that we can blog with out fear. One veteran holds a special place in my heart, Henry Lee Glass. Better know as HL. There was not many days that you would find him that I wasn't tagging along. People always joked around and called me Henryetta. Not a day goes by when I don't think about him. I can still remember his smell. Though it has been 20 yrs since the last time I saw him I remember it like it was yesterday. I am proud to be a Veteran's Granddaughter. I am proud of our great country and pray everyday for our future. Please remember our past, present and future troops. God be with them!

Just some work fun!

Well today was Halloween. Our VP(flavor flav in the pic) wanted us to do a contest. We had a lot of folks join in the fun. We had a redneck bride, a french maid, bride of chucky, bubba hefner, GI Jane(that was me), a cereal killer, little redding hood. First place went to our engineering manager. He's the one in the pink dress. He walked and talked the part great. He made us girls mad because he looked a lot better in his dress than we ever would. We had a lot of fun.

Playing outside

Saturday morning we were able to spend some time out and about. The horses were happy to see us. They just love when the green scoop comes out. They know they get some good treats when they see that. The red horse is Maverick, dun horse is Sadie, Nathan's baby, and the donkey is Strips. In the last pic Strips was getting mad because he wasn't get enough food and Nate almost lost his seat.

Meet the newest addition-Layla Hoke

This is our new baby! We got her last Sat from a rescue shelter in Conroe. She is a boxer. Nathan found her on-line. For the most part she is a good dog. She is learning to listen better with the help of some treats. Last night we tried to help her out a little by putting socks on her feet. We have slippery wood floors, not so good for doggy feet. She didn't like it much. She had us rolling laughing with the way she was trying to walk around. I wish I could have gotten video of it.

Brandon sent us a few pics from the desert. We don't like seeing him with the gun but he needs it for protection. He sounds good and seems to be ok so far. He has been able to call and email pretty often. That makes it a lot easier on the family. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
